Greetings, good people, followers of Viola Music Club!

Sadly, we had to kiss the shimmery summer of 2009 goodbye yesterday as we're now stepping into September and as always, it brings autumn along with it.

So obviously this means it's time to quiet down here at the club as well. It's been a particularly sweaty summer this year as far as our music goes, so it's definitely about time to cool down a bit with some far more mellow sounds.

So we bring you this epic tale of an epic-yet-imaginary flood called Sea Curtain!

Varsin komea paluu alkuaikojen tyttöjenitketysmusiikkiin. Ne diskoilut ovat toki loistavia myös, mutta kyllä teidän vahvin osaamisenne on tällaisissa melankolisissa tunnelmapaloissa.

The best you have released in here since "Nobodylovers"! To be honest, this kinda sound defined my image of Viola and still does, to some extent. So, I'd be glad if you kept that up, at least partly. I always liked your gloomier, more atmospheric tunes more than the joyful stuff. In all honesty, I bet the old Shamrain would have been proud of a song like "Sea Curtain".
p.s.: Riku, sorry for the delay -your lyricbook-copy is as good as on its way to you!

I'm really glad that all our sides have their friends and I'm really happy we got around to doing something like this as we haven't really done anything from this end of our spectrum since Never Cease To Wonder - unless you count Ada Bell from Melancholydisco 2.

But don't worry, there'll always be a room for melancholic and atmospheric tracks in our doings, just as there'll be room for euphoric dancefloor stompers as well.

And everything in between...

Välillä pitää purkaa kaikki vedenpaisumusangstit ulos, että on taas tilaa saippuakuplille ja kukkasille! Tuo laulun määrä vs. biisin pituus oli skidisti keskustelun alla tuossa tekoprosessin aikana ja omasta puolestani ikävä kyllä less is more -lähestymistapa voitti. Itse en kovin kova instruilun ystävä ole, mutta Kärkkäri halusi jättää laulut tästä teoksesta vähemmälle.

Progeilukitaroita! Tuli mieleen vaikkapa semmoiset orkesterit kuin Opeth ja Tiamat.
Erityisesti sanoisin: Tiamat-orkesterin biisi nimeltä Deeper kind of slumber. Merellistä ja uneliasta ja sumuista. Kaunista. Öistä. :)

Ohhoh! Pelottavia verrokkeja pudotellaan kuin KMA pommeja ikään! Tässähän paljastuu kohta liiankin selkeästi meikäläisen (ja toki myös Kärkkäisen) hevimenneisyys, vaikka molemmat mainitus orkesterit olivatkin teini-ikäiselle piiskatukalle aivan liian teknistä höttöä.
